Perhaps I should re-phrase the question this way:
Is there no ability for core J5 to allow a front-end user (Registered/Logged-In) to do something like upload a file in article creation (say a PDF) and have it display in the created article?
I know technically the media custom field can do this but there doesn't seem to be anyway to: 1.) organize uploaded files based on User and 2.) display a PDF in the article once it has been submitted (at least not using extensions...).
